How Far Back can you go?

Some parish records exist as far back as the 1500's but realistically research from parish records will probably take your family tree back to the early 1700's.

Progress will vary depending upon the survival and availability of records, the commonality of the surname and "Nomadic" tendencies of the family.

What if you can't find my family?

The preliminary checks that we make should ensure that enough records exist to begin your project. If for any reason it is not possible to continue our research due to lack of information or availability of resources etc, we will inform you and the cost of your package will be reduced accordingly.
In any event a minimum charge of £40 will be retained from your deposit to cover the cost of our initial research.

How long does the research take?

Depending on the package chosen and the number of certificates we have to order we aim to complete the research in no more than 6 weeks.
We will always keep you informed on progress.

What are your Sources?

General Register Office Birth, Marriage and Death records from 1837.
Census Returns for 1841, 1851, 1861, 1871, 1881, 1891, 1901 and 1911.
Scottish civil records of Birth, Death and Marriage (from 1855)
The International Genealogical Index (IGI).
Commonwealth War Graves Commission.
Military Records
Parish Records.
Immigration and Emigration Records

I am adopted, can you still help?

The GRO maintains the Adopted Children Register (ACR). The Register contains the particulars of adoptions authorised by order of a court in England or Wales on or after 1 January 1927.
The only information that is available from the Adopted Children Register is a certificated copy of an entry, which is the equivalent of a birth certificate for an adopted person.
We have access to an outside contact that specialises in this area. (Please note that In this case your details would have to be passed to a 3rd party)

How Much will this cost?

We do not charge an hourly rate. You pay a fixed price for the Package of your choice plus any certificates we have to obtain to progress with our research (Currently £9.25 each).
We always seek your permission and explain why it is necessary before we order any extra documents.
Full Family Tree Wall Charts are extra as is Digital Photo enhancement.

How and when do I pay?

You have the choice of paying by cheque or PayPal. We require a deposit before any research is undertaken and will send you an invoice for the remainder when the research is complete.
On receipt of the final payment we will send your package by recorded delivery.

What is the End Product?

You will receive a detailed Family History report presented in a binder in the colour of your choice. This contains a Presentation Certificate (if ordered) a Pedigree Chart, a Narrative Report broken down by generation, a Family Group Sheet for every family in your tree and lists of places connected to your family along with a list of your ancestors occupations. We also include suggestions for further research.
For a limited time we are also including 2 FREE CD's.
CD 1 is preloaded with your Family History in a Web page style which also has an "At a glance" Pedigree Chart and an All Ancestors Tree Chart.

CD 2 has digital copies of your documents, photo's and a Gedcom file of your Family History.

You can print this form or download it to your computer. Fill in as much detail as you can and return it to us (Post or e-mail) with your deposit.
